The Work of the Foundation

Child1aThe Pacific Parklands Foundation was established January 2000 as a non-profit society with an independent Board of Directors.

The Foundation raises funds to improve and expand the Metro Vancouver regional park system, and helps find funding for the volunteer Park Partners. The volunteers identify areas that need development for recreation, education and nature conservation. The Foundation also fosters public awareness of our outstanding park system.

The Foundation has expanded the regional parks system through various projects and means, including land purchases and bequests. We're always seeking to recruit skilled corporate and community leaders as Foundation Directors.

The Pacific Parklands Foundation bridges the gap between government funding and the pressing demands on our valuable parks. The Foundation does not solicit support for basic maintenance and operation of the parks, which is and remains the responsibility of Metro Vancouver Regional Parks.

We're proud of the role we've played in the development and maintenance of this park system and as a facilitator in uniting not-for-profit organizations, corporations and government, all for Geesethe purpose of improving, sustaining and expanding Metro Vancouver regional parks.  We recognize the need to ensure that future generations understand the value of these unique spaces and learn how to work and play in our parks, while enhancing and preserving them.

We invite you to learn about the projects we're currently involved with. Perhaps one or more of them move you in some way. Please consider making a donation through this site, or our office, or volunteering your time to help us.
