Angela Ho was one of two recipients of the 2012 Dr. M. Wosk Award.
With the 2013 deadline fast approaching, I decided to check in with Angela and see what she has been up to since receiving her award.
Since I met Angela at Parksfest last fall (where she was formally recognized with her award), it is no surprise that this young lady has been very busy!
In 2011, Angela played a prominent role in organizing a major Climate Conference at Windermere. After receiving this award, she continued her work by mentoring the C3 (Climate Change Conference) Committee. They had approximately 250 attendees that day, and were joined by a wide range of community activists. In addition to this, Angela continued to devote time to Windermere’s organic garden by working with her co-leaders to build the school a community orchard. Together they planted approximately 30 fruit trees and 25 berry bushes, and built planter boxes and pollinator gardens in the spring. They have also hosted several work parties and pruning workshops left by a few specialists from the Environmental Youth Alliance (EYA).
Currently, Angela is at UBC studying in the “Global Citizens” Coordinated Arts Program.
