Giving Thanks

As a small non-profit organization focused on the ever-growing Metro Vancouver region, we at Pacific Parklands Foundation have much to be thankful for.
At the top of our list of thanks is our Board of Directors. These amazing professionals volunteer their time, sharing their passion and expertise to help Pacific Parklands Foundation in its mission to conserve, preserve and enhance the Metro Vancouver regional parks system. Their commitment is key to our success.
Next, of utmost importance is our partnership with Metro Vancouver. We are thankful to be part of such a unique relationship as it provides our organization with office space and allows us to work in close proximity with parks staff.

Next, we are incredibly grateful for our donors. Whether funding or in-kind donations, without the support our donors offer, much needed projects and initiatives would not reach completion. It is this amazing support that allows us to continue our work in the Metro Vancouver regional parks. We also value the donation of products and services. It is such donations that enable the recognition of Park Partners and volunteers at events such as Parksfest 2012.

This brings us to volunteers. Through the Catching the Spirit Youth Environmental Stewardship Program and the Lower Mainland Green Team, Pacific Parklands Foundation is proud to support some exceptional youth and volunteers all determined to conserve, preserve and enhance the regional parks. While we work hard in the office to ensure we secure funding for projects, these armies of volunteers hit the parks prepared to do amazing work in support of many of the same projects.

This year we have also welcomed aboard volunteers that work directly with Pacific Parklands Foundation.

  • Frank Townsley, a Coquitlam resident, has generously donated the use of many of his photographs.
  • Craig Riehl, an SFU graduate, donates his time to help with some of our design work including the new brochure.
  • Thomas Lehout volunteers as a photographer for our special events including the Friending Mother Nature Launch in July.
  • John AuYeung volunteers in the office on a weekly basis helping with administrative duties, organization and research.
Internally at Pacific Parklands Foundation, we are thankful to have an passionate, hardworking and devoted staff consisting of Denise Coutts, Executive Director and contract employees including Caitlin Hill (Communications and Fund Development Coordinator), Maria Ramirez (Accounting/Bookkeeping), Brian Moylan (Web Design) and Karen Pledger (Grant Writer).
