The water at Centennial Beach in Boundary Bay Regional Park has just become easier to get to!
Last week, Metro Vancouver and PPF staff worked together to install a beach mat stretching out from the Centennial Beach Café. This project was part of Metro Vancouver’s regional strategy to make parks more accessible.
There has been an overwhelmingly positive reaction to this beach pathway. It has enabled people with walkers, strollers, and canes to access the beach in ways that were previously impossible.
The intention is for this mat to be a permanent installment for the summer season at Centennial Beach. Hopefully it will contend with the wind and all of the sand tracked in by the thousands of visitors to Boundary Bay Regional Park each and every day!
