“With one inspired leader there is the potential of attracting a thousand or more participants. Without those exceptional leaders, thousands of people may never get involved.” – Dr. Mordehai Wosk
Just like protecting and preserving the growth of our Regional Parks, Pacific Parklands Foundation also believes it takes the same commitment to nurture leadership in our youth.
That’s why we established the Dr. M. Wosk Environmental Leadership Award for the development of youth leadership back in 2006. Funding from this award goes towards engaging, training, and empowering today’s youth with the necessary skills to foster future sustainability in our Regional Parks and wherever life takes them.
Guess what…? Applications are now OPEN!
Teaching Skills to Last a Lifetime…
We offer the participants of the Dr. M. Wosk Environmental Leadership Award in depth training in ecological issues and environmental preservation. We also help hone the organizational and communication skills required to affect profound difference.
Our hope is that beneficiaries of the award will take these experiences with them as they continue to grow and become leaders of the future.
Who Can Apply?
We offer the Dr. Mordehai Wosk awards to students and individuals in the Metro Vancouver Regional Parks area who demonstrate a sense of responsibility for youth leadership, park preservation, and environmental care.
The value of each award ranges from $250-$1,000 annually.
All applications and nominations are reviewed by Pacific Parklands Foundation’s Environmental Leadership Selection Committee who then determines the number of participants to receive awards as well as the value of each award presented.
So, be thoughtful and show us your passion for nature and our beautiful Regional Parks. We look forward to reading your applications!
