Thank you to @RobynWorcester for directing me to this wonderful Earth Day event put on by the Stanley Park Ecology Society.
Earth Day Restoration Walk and Work
April 27, 2014 from 10 am to 12 pm
Join Stanley Park Ecology Society for an easy morning walk to understand habitat restoration that has been underway in the Park: reconstructing islands and renewing the wetland of Lost Lagoon; removing invasive plants and crocheting ivy into anti-erosion nets; building boardwalks and co-existing with beavers.
Pack your lunch if you want to stay for the habitat restoration event in the afternoon.
In the afternoon:
Help SPES celebrate Earth Day by removing invasive plant species and planting native flora. Flex your muscles while learning how habitat restoration is important for the animals that call Stanley Park home.
