Here at the Pacific Parklands Foundation we are incredibly thankful for so much. For instance, we are thankful to live in the wonderful region of Metro Vancouver, a region that is home to 22 regional parks. We are also thankful for our fabulous Board of Directors and our dedicated staff and volunteers
Without such amazing support we would never be in the position we are in Shell FuellingChange. It is with this continued support that we will meet with great success.
However, situated in the environmental non-profit sector one of the things we are most thankful for is youth involvement. The future of the environment rests in the hands of these younger generations making youth involvement absolutely critical to the survival of our parks and green spaces.
With this, the Pacific Parklands Foundation strives to recognize environmental youth leaders.
One means of doing this is through the Dr. Mordehai Wosk Leadership Fund. Unfortunately, the application process has closed for the year but we are pleased to announce that the winners will be recognized on November 5, 2011 at Parksfest 2011.
Another means of recognizing youth is through the Gordon Smith Award. This application process is still open. The information can be found under “Projects” on our website so do not hesitate to check it out and better yet–apply!
Now over to you. What are you thankful for? Leave us a comment, post on our Facebook wall or tweet it to us!
