As many of you may know, yesterday was the last day in the FuellingChange grant competition. Since May 2011 we worked hard to stay in the top four and are proud to say that for most of the campaign we were actually in first place.
Unfortunately, the last day of FuellingChange did not go our way.
As we had anticipated there was a huge push by the other organizations and we dropped into fifth place.
Despite the amazing support shown throughout the competition and the incredible dedication evident in the last couple hours of the competition we were unable to regain our standing.
When voting closed at 9pm we were still an estimated 200-300 votes behind and sadly did not rank in the top four for a $50K grant.
The top four winners will be revealed within the next month and we extend our congratulations to them for an amazing fight to the end.
We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all of those who supported us throughout this campaign. We believe there is incredible value in our project and are so grateful to have your support. The awesome show of support for Pacific Parklands Foundation is definitely the silver lining to come out of this campaign!
This time we are entered for a $100K grant for our Boundary Bay and Centennial Beach Pond project. In this category only the top 2 receive the grant. Please watch FuellingChange for the new campaign to start and check out the new project!
