Building a love of nature in them is our best hope to keep our parks and environment healthy for many generations to come. Catching the Spirit is a unique leadership, social responsibility and environmental stewardship program for youth aged 12 to 18. It’s led by youth for youth.
Pacific Parklands Foundation has been a core supporter of this special environmental program for youth since it began in 2000.
“I have been equipped me with so many skills essential to thriving in the ‘real-world’,” says Lisa, a peer leader. “It has given me confidence and inspired me to take action towards sustainability… For some of these kids, it was their first experience spending hours on end in the wilderness. For others, it just reinforced their love for nature. Whichever it was, however, it was evident that nature has some incredible power to bring people together.”
