LANGLEY BOG VIEWING PLATFORM
In December 2015 Anne Gosse, Derby Reach/Brae Island Parks Association (DRBIPA) Board Member, suggested an exciting idea – to build a viewing platform on the west side of Houston Trail.
Pacific Parklands Foundation was proud to be part of this project and donate $35,000 ($25,000 of which came from an anonymous donor). And let’s not forget the many volunteers who donated their time to the construction of the platform- talk about teamwork!
The Langley Bog Viewing Platform offers an expansive view of Langley Bog, giving park visitors an opportunity to view wildlife and plants without disturbing the sensitive bog ecosystem. There are over 70 known species of birds who frequent the bog and a range of unique wetland plants.
