About

We support Metro Vancouver Regional Parks

WHO WE ARE

Pacific Parklands Foundation is a registered charity founded in 2000 to raise funds to enhance and protect Metro Vancouver Regional Parks.

WHAT WE DO

The Pacific Parklands Foundation is the fundraising arm of Metro Vancouver Regional Parks. While the number of visitors is rising rapidly, the funding for our parks through taxes can’t keep up. There’s a widening gap between the parks and services visitors both want and expect, and what the government is able to provide. We work to bridge that gap.

We have many programs including those to:

  • protect our parks from invasive species;
  • conserve and restore important wildlife habitats;
  • educate and empower youth to become environmental leaders;
  • ensure that our parks are accessible to people with physical disabilities, seniors, and families;
  • improve and increase existing park facilities for visitors such as boardwalks and viewing towers; and
  • build a strong future for your regional parks.

Healthy parks = healthy people + strong communities. Our regional parks enrich our quality of life and play an important role in defining our region. The pristine wild spaces that we have chosen to protect make Metro Vancouver the envy of the world. The Pacific Parklands Foundation works to make our park system the best that it can be, for now and for future generations.

HOW WE DO IT

Pacific Parklands Foundation acts as a catalyst to unite the community – government, businesses, community leaders, individuals, and other non-profit organizations – to improve, sustain, and expand Metro Vancouver Regional Parks. Our unique partnership with Metro Vancouver means that:

  • we only select the highest priority projects within the regional parks system;
  • there is a guarantee of experts on-site when we undertake important stewardship and restoration projects;
  • our administrative costs are covered so virtually all of your donation goes directly to support and enhance your regional parks.

We depend on people like you who love our parks and who care about stewarding these precious ecological treasures for future generations. Please join us by making a donation or becoming a monthly supporter.
